From PowerPoint to Prezi

Following Tuesday’s post on PowerPoint Presentations For The Busy Manager I’d like to introduce Prezi. This online presentation tool will give your PowerPoint slides the magic needed to help you stand out. Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software that opens up a new world between whiteboards and slides. The zoomable canvas makes it fun to explore ideas and while PowerPoint is lateral, with Prezi you can alter your presentation to move with the room discussion. No flicking back 10 slides, zoom out and zoom in to the topic for discussion.
Benefits of Prezi:
- Present online or offline; iPad, laptop or onto a screen.
- Collaborate in real time; in the same room or across time zones
- Use paths and frames to create a cinematic story-line
- Import media (YouTube, PowerPoint, PDFs, images, videos, etc)
- Pan and zoom around your canvas to visualize ideas
I have used Prezi as a link in my email signature, with a QR code, in blogs (!) and to present to clients. It’s also a great training tool for staff and contractors. You can share socially directly from your presentation, copy a link or gather embed code as I have done for the Prezi below. This presentation is an alternative option to the second PowerPoint presentation from my previous post. Most of the content is the same though I have added a marketing message to the back end. That’s another great thing with Prezi, you can choose to have your presentation as private or public. Increase your exposure (and hopefully receive some likes) with the public setting, further options allow for your Prezi to be copied if you wish.
