Organising your Electronic Files using Outlook

Most of us have our Inboxes arranged into folders but there is still frustration out there with trying to keep all your files together in one easy to find place.
Microsoft Outlook (I am using Office 07) has some fantastic tools in Contacts which may help.

  • Open Contact (you can even set up projects/jobs as contacts for this excerise, don’t forget to add a Category which will enable you to view contacts by category – making information even easier to find).
  • Under the INSERT menu are icons which allow you to attach files or Outlook items to the Contact (see figure 1)
  • You can also click on the ACTIVITIES icon to view Outlook items relevant to this contact (see figure 2).
